Hey Ya’ll. I’m Chloe

Outdoor-obsessed writer,

entrepreneurial visionary

+ marketing strategist

Trees outdoors in the forest as viewed from below with blue sky behind them.

You’re passionate about promoting the wellbeing of people + planet

You’re spearheading a conscious operation driven to develop sustainable solutions for active, nature-lovin’ communities,

I back you every step of the way.

My fourth-grade teacher once informed my mom I’d make a great lawyer one day. Apparently, I could craft one helluva persuasive argument at nine years old.

That same year I founded “OOPS” (Organization of Panda Saving — duh). I wielded my persuasive abilities to collect donations from friends, parents, and anyone who’d lend me an ear or read the handwritten fliers I carried around.

Despite my steadfastness, I can’t claim that I am to thank for the world’s least intimidating bear making it all the way to 2024. Nonetheless, a seed was planted back in that fourth grade classroom.

A few key elements grew from that seed that led me to today. . .

Conviction in my values + voice. Personal responsibility for conservation + sustainability.

+ a penchant for *ethical* persuasion.

There’s often an undercurrent of belief in the outdoor industry that words like “selling” and “persuasion” are inherently dirty. I dispel that.

Persuading action that helps heal the planet is needed. Selling intentionally designed, sustainable gear and technical apparel helps people connect to nature and reach their goals.

And let’s be real, for your sustainable company to BE SUSTAINABLE (aka stay in business), ya gotta be willing to stand out + sell the solutions you believe in.

Society at large is having its eyes opened to the unacceptable impacts of unconscious consumerism. People who give a f*ck — your peopleare looking for a better way.

Brands + organizations like yours that model a conscious, sustainable, holistic, high-performance standard is the better way.

As a writer with a penchant for persuasion + a mind for marketing, I take it as my personal responsibility to champion your cause + empower your connection to conscious consumers.

What makes me so qualified to speak to the outdoor industry + active lifestyle space?

  • Such as:

    • Years of agency experience working on rapid turnaround projects for functional clinicians.

    • Helping a camping gear startup achieve their first $100k month.

    • Contracting with titans of industry in the cycling space to craft key messaging for a multimillion-dollar launch.

  • Have you ever tried to talk to your family who doesn’t rock climb. . . About climbing? If you know, you know (and you've received the weird looks more than once).

The same goes for MTB, wake sports, backpacking, and on + on.

I communicate authentically with your peace-and-quite-seeking, super-stoked, peak-bagging, gram-counting, trail running, keto/paleo/vegetarian, audience because, well, I quite literally am that person.

  • Whether it’s in the form of copy or conversation, communication is my bread + butter.

    My professional background includes:

    • Teaching English as a Foreign Language to elementary school students + National Park employees in Thailand.

    • Conducting surveys in the field to report on various populations of flora + fauna in Thai National Parks for international databases.

    • Reporting on various topics from gear reviews to alternative health trends for digital + print publications.

    • Over a decade working behind a bar. . . Let me tell you, there is no greater crash course in communication + service.

Tired of small talk?

Let’s dig deeper. . .

    • Exploration - I oscillate between calling this open-mindedness + curiosity

    • Freedom - I thrive in a routine but monotony drives me crazy

    • Discipline - These two may feel in competition, but I believe discipline = freedom

    • Compassion - For self, for the planet, for other populations + species, for perspectives aside from my own

    • Leave it better than you found it - Everything from my weekend campsite to the people I encounter along the way

  • Too many to list. Here's the top 5:

    • Wakeboarding + wakesurfing. . . Boating in general

    • Climbing + eating crag snacks

    • Practicing self-care in the form of yoga, working out + cooking farm-fresh vegetarian meals

    • Indulging in a book in direct sunlight

    • Marveling at the world with my husband + beloved Aussie Shepherds

  • 1) I wanted to be a conflict journalist when I grew up. To be honest, I still want to be a conflict journalist when I grow up.

    2) I'm Thai-American. My mother was born in Laos and my grandfather was a shaman in northern Thailand.

    3) I don't watch TV or movies unless it's comedies like The Office, Step Brothers, or Talladega Nights. They never get any less hilarious.

Are our values too aligned to ignore? Looking for a “tell it to ya straight —with love” copywriter that gets results?
